Mission statement
Our name is not a slogan. It is four words we are held to, and this page is where we write down what each of them costs us to mean.
Steb exists to remove the friction between a business and the tools it depends on. We build systems that work quietly, hold up under pressure, and leave every client more capable than we found them.
The four commitments
Read the first letters downward and you have the company. Read across and you have the standard we are measured against.
Seamless
No visible joins. A system should not announce where one tool ends and the next begins. If your team has to remember a workaround, copy data between two screens, or explain a quirk to every new hire, the work is not finished, whatever the specification said.
Technology
Easier, never harder. Technology is meant to make life easier. Each release should move the person using it forward, with fewer steps and nothing new to learn just to do the same job. Software that grows more complicated for its users is going backwards, however new it looks. We build for more than people expect today, and for what they will come to expect.
Elevated
Leave the team ahead. Every engagement should end with a cleaner process and people who understand their own stack. Nobody should be locked in by anything other than the quality of the work.
Beyond
Past the handover. Launch is the middle of the project, not the end. We build so the system can be changed by whoever holds it next, and we write down what we did so that changing it does not have to mean calling us.
If we cannot do it well, we will say so before you have paid us to find out.
The fastest way to test whether any of this is true is to give us a real problem and watch how we answer.
